Anyhow, I missed DJ SHIMAMURA’s Essential Worsk by that much, can anyone upload JUST the jaka, M-Project and kors k mixes? Don’t care enough for the album.

Hey like I said I could be wrong… no need to get all offensive…

And I didn’t say if I did it the long way the audio would get better did I? I just said I didn’t notice the difference.
In any case foobar gives you a nice warning message that your about to confirm a lossy to a lossy which means it skips converting to wav. :0

Also I know about WMA I just used it as an example granted a poor one but an example no less…

Your converter sucks if it gives you artifacts. Converters already turn your song into WAV before actually re-encoding it.

Hey dumbshit. If you convert to wave you dont gain any audio that wasn’t there. MP3 cuts down data, then converting to wave turns it back into PCM. They are still the same. Actually when you convert files normally, it converts MP3->WAV->Whatever. What you are really doing is like taking a picture of a 10foot painting (converting lossless to MP3), printing it back onto a canvas and then taking a picture of that.

If you have a song in WMA and you want it in MP3, you GET A NEW COPY IN MP3. JESUS.

Well I have had actually converted a wave file to MPC at quality 9 and it’s about the same size of itunes files @ 256kbps.

A Portabale Media player such as Cowon A9 as well as Foobar2000, VLC, and AIMP2 for windows can play a variety of formats including MPC and OGG.

Converting sucks with almost every media format just convert to WAV first then to MP3 then you won’t get artifacts by converting Lossy to Lossy like mp3 to MPC.

At least that’s what works for me… everytime I convert like a WMA to MP3 for instance I get some sound artifacts.
But when I convert the WMA to Wav then to Mp3 it sounds the same. Like I said that’s how it works for me.
I could be wrong though I mean it wouldn’t be the first time I went through the long way of doing something only to find it really had no meaning… (Fixing my RROD xbox360 for example LOL)

I fear that my portable player doesn’t play MPC and If I had to convert it, the fidelity would be way worse than MP3 alone.
I wonder how and why MPC is that interesting, never heard of it before knowing this site.
If you hate MP3 THAT much upload lossless if you could, at least the conversion won’t be affected.

ogg (aotuv). quality & file size — on par with mpc. software and hardware support — much better.

The advantage of MPC is to have a smaller files with high quality , so my intention is not to get “extreme high” quality but to fairly reduce the size and cut the ability for ppl to stream. so what i would do:V0 > Q7

Keep MP3. Converting lossy to lossy (MPC -> MP3) sucks hard, and I know a lot of people here use iTunes (like me), and would have to convert the files to even play them. Using MP3, everyone can play the files no problem, but with MPC a lot would have to convert.
Therefore, to make everyone happy and give them the music they desire without problem, you should just keep MP3.
